Organic Assemblage Paintings
I began this series as a way to deal with waste. I thought about how many flowers and plants are cut for bouquets every day and then end up in the trash. As a way to preserve the beauty of nature, I began drying, pressing and adhering cut bouquets to canvas using galkyd and mod podge. Eventually, I started using flowers I grew and plants I weeded. These pieces are a tribute to preserving the natural world, showcasing its texture and reinventing it in my own style.
