Abstract Floral Portraits

After being diagnosed with kidney disease, I started a treatment of high dose steroids and a variety of other medications. I did not realize it at the time, but soon, the medications would severely limit my functionality. My ability to communicate was hindered, my thoughts were scattered and my body underwent a myriad of physical changes. Needless to say, I was struggling. In order to cope with the side effects, I began creating bright, colorful work that would elevate my mood. These abstract floral portraits are the results of that coping. In essence, the worse I felt, the more vibrant the art became.
